Perpetual Pantry is an AI-powered inventory management system built specifically for cafés and food service businesses. It runs entirely in a single browser file — no app store, no server, no subscription — and puts a trained AI manager on call for every person in your team, from the owner at their desk to the barista on the floor.

The problem it solves
Most small cafés manage stock the way they always have — clipboards, shared spreadsheets, or gut instinct. The result is predictable: you run out of oat milk on a Saturday, over-order on items that sit in the cool room, and spend Monday morning reconciling a week of guesswork. Larger systems exist, but they’re built for enterprise kitchens and priced accordingly. They require servers, IT support, and weeks of onboarding just to log a delivery.

Gavin – Your AI Assistant
At the centre of Perpetual Pantry is Gavin, an AI inventory manager powered by Claude. Gavin isn’t a chatbot that answers questions and leaves the work to you. He takes action.
Tell him a crate of eggs just arrived and he logs the delivery, updates the stock count, and clears the pending order. Tell him the hollandaise sauce was dropped and he records the wastage, calculates the cost, and flags whether you need to reorder. Walk him through your lunch service numbers and he deducts every ingredient from every dish, right down to the garnish, using the recipes you’ve set up.
Gavin knows your entire inventory in real time. He knows which suppliers carry which items, what your par levels are, and when stock is trending toward a problem before it becomes one. Ask him anything — he answers with your actual data, not a generic response.
For the whole team
Perpetual Pantry ships with a companion mobile app, Gavin Staff, that gives every team member access to Gavin on their phone. Staff can log a spill, check whether you’re low on a particular item, or record a delivery as it comes off the truck — all through a simple chat interface, in plain language, without needing to understand the system behind it. Changes sync back to the manager’s dashboard instantly via cloud.
